The game is afoot... (for all you Sherlock Holmes fans)
Dave & Sharri, Russ & Sher, Duane & Pam have been is conversation recently about the future of caring for Gma D.
Pam has fallen off the deep end and Duane isn't doing much better. (Though changes have been implemented and things seem to be *slightly* improving for them).
Last Thursday the head nurse (Anna) had a nice heart-to-heart chat with Duane. She feels that the tumor opening is immanent - which will require 24x7 attendance, wound care, morphine (which Gma is vehemently opposed to), and, ya know, stuff like that.
It may be time to find a place for Gma to be cared for in this manner. Finances are, of course, a major factor and we are looking into facilities and costs and options.
Thus, stay tuned....

Never an easy decision to admit when a loved one needs more care than we can give. Uncle Duane, you and Aunt Pam have done an amazing thing to allow Grandma to stay at home this long. I am not surprised that you both need some "down" time to recuperate and re-energize. This has been an emotionally and physically challenging task. You have loved and lived well and you'll always have the memories of those close heart-to-hearts and reminiscing. May God grant you wisdom and comfort as you release Grandma in the care of others. You'll always have my love and thankfulness.
