Henceforth, all entries here, in this BLOG, will be written by Duane.
It is here that I will try to record my observations of the daily events,
as I have time to write them.
Mom was able to get up and have the 'shake' that I had left for her breakfast. She rinsed out the glass and put her mobile tray back in place on the back porch.
She has begun to use her oxygen during the day now --- not all the time, but much of the time when it is convenient.
In the afternoon she began to have a few memory problems, i.e., not remembering names of things, asking about the same thing more than once... (I might mention here that Mom dozes off to sleep, sitting in her chair, a lot. And I do too at times!) But, overall, she is still 'hip and with it', and always cheerful.

She told me that she had felt nauseated during the evening/night and had gone into the kitchen for an Alka-Seltzer that I had left out for her (just in case she might need it). Normally she makes up her own home-brew of water, lemon juice and baking soda. She taught me how to make it -- My first attempt must have been pretty terrible because she gave me much better instructions the next time she had me make one for her! I haven't tasted it, but it looks pretty good (for it's purpose).
For lunch we had all five chicken drum sticks that Kristin (our mystery woman) had brought over to Mom. I had cooked it according to the 'hint' that Jess (Shane's wife) had suggested to me on Saturday when they were on their way from Bear Lake Week to SLC. I had planned it to be for a meal and two 'left over' meals... That didn't work out! It was all eaten in the first meal -- right out of the crock pot! Mom kept raving about how good the meal was. I saved the pineapple that the meat cooked in and was thinking that I would have a few chunks here and there with a meal, but Mom loved the chunks and almost ate all of them along with the chicken!
This afternoon she is crocheting another dish cloth using a slightly different pattern. She has found that crocheting is so much easier for her that trying to knit them. (She has had trouble knitting over the last several months -- going from a nice (but complex) pattern, to just a straight stitch, back and forth, to now just crocheting).
