Well, um,,,
Yesterday for lunch We had leftover chicken nuggets (wings) and fried rice. Gma choked on the nuggets (I only gave her four).
She has had a stricture in her esophagus for a few years and she hasn't been bothered by it for most of the last year. But, alas, it caught up with her with the chicken. I had warmed the rice and nuggets up in a bowl in a microwave and I fear that they may have hardened too much for Gma to get chewed up properly. Full dentures don't work as well as real 'choppers'. So, no more of that sort of thing for her any more. I'll try to stick to soft foods or only a little of fresh cooked things...
Today's lunch was fresh homemade french fries. She didn't eat too many of them but she enjoyed them... (She is eating less and less these days --- this is also part of 'the process'. Tonight's dining will be a little potato salad, warmed baked beans and 3 peach slices (cut up). This should go down easy and smooth.
She has been tired and has slept or napped yesterday and today.
The 'sleeping more' is part of 'the process' and I am glad that she can still sleep at night when she gets so much sleep during the day.
