I watched more closely as Gma was walking to the kitchen today.
Her foot isn't as angled as I thought. I was seeing her hold her foot rather angled as she sat at the kitchen table the last couple of weeks... So, that's good!
Gma has been trying to knit a pair of slippers. In the past, she has made them using a good looking, but challenging pattern. But, trying and being unable to make them, she switched to making dish cloths, with some success. She gave up on the dish cloths as she began to not see to make them accurately. She has switched to a much simpler slipper pattern. Over the last couple of weeks she has started, pulled it out and started again. I was napping this afternoon, and noticed that she was doing something that looked like she was making a hat. When I really awoke I found that she was good-naturedly not happy about how the slipper was coming out. She said something like, "Now I see why people give up making things because you just can't see what you are doing anymore".
Her eyesight is failing... But, she is not blind!!!
I've noticed that sometimes she struggles to eat things on her plate. Some would pass it off as an infirm hand, and that is partially true, but she also can't quite see the omelette (or other food item) to know if she has actually, completely cut off a piece of it.
And, so we go.... We're still having fun....
:-)
