It has been a real roller-coaster ride trying to get Gma on to Medicaid. At long last I (Duane) got word today that she has [finally] been approved beginning July. Now that it is almost Aug, there are a few things that need to be worked out, but it can wait till we get home from traveling.
On another note, I got a call from the Hospice nurse this afternoon. Skipping through the details, Gma has been approved for another 60 days. Issues relating to a skin abrasion on her leg and oxygen saturation have been addressed. (Skin is almost healed up, and trying to keep her at 90% O2 will be rescinded. For her individual case, it doesn't appear that her body actually needs that high of concentration. They will be watching her very closely for other indicators of oxygen deprivation - if they show up.)
I've spoken to Gma a couple of times while we have been traveling. She remains upbeat and fun to talk to, but still having troubles with memory -- but we've been dealing with that for a couple of years...
Gma is still Gma --- and we love her...
