When I arrived to Gma's this morning, she asked me if I had returned to her house last night? I told her 'No' and she then told me about what she had experienced....
She called me around 7:00 PM to tell me that she was ready for bed and was going to go to sleep (as usual). Later, she heard some noise in the kitchen -- someone opening and closing various cupboards (about three of them). This was around 7:30 PM. She called out to me, thinking that I had returned for something, but I didn't answer (because I wasn't there). She got up and made her way into the kitchen to see who it was or see what had made the noise. All looked normal. She insisted that she HEARD something and was not imaging that she heard it.
I said, 'Hmm....' and pondered what she was telling me.
I remembered that when I left last night, I went out the back door. When I got to my car I couldn't remember locking the back door, so I stopped the car and got out to check the door -- I had locked it (must have been out of habit and I didn't remember doing it).
In talking to Gma about this incident and thinking about it, I came to the following conclusion:
-- It must have been someone from the other side.
-- If it had been someone from this side, who had gained entrance, they would have been quiet as a church mouse, not wanting to be detected.
-- Thus, I conclude, that someone from the other side would want to make noise so that Gma would know that they were there...
Another episode of things that make you go "Hmm...."
:-)
