5-May 12:05 PM
Nurse: Anna
BP 146/86
Pulse 102
O2 96%
Temp 98.9
Resp 24 (at rest)
Tumor size 19.5 X 18.5
Abdominal 128
Knee Bump 7.5 X 3.5
Weight 148 (went down two lbs - appears to be water retension that will flucuate)
R-L Arms 28.5 - 28.5
Notes: Nurse said the tumor is getting hard, heavy and hot. While standing/walking, Gma's was gasping for air and only able to take quite shallow breaths. During this time the nurse observed that the Resp went up to mid-30s and the O2 level dropped significantly. The Nurse then got out the 'Hospice Medicine Pack' and went through it to tell Pam and I what to look for in Gma and how to administer the Meds.
The aide told the nurse that Gma is beginning to have a struggle to get into/out of the bathtub for her bath. She will soon need to have bed baths...
------
Over the last several days days, Gma have been active and able to get around quite well. She doesn't seem to know the definition of 'letting go'. Even after she and I have talks about preparing to go, and she says she is ready and wants to go, but she still focuses on things here and around the house/yard. (sigh) Old Habits Die Hard.....
