Notes: . Blood Draw.
------------
The Hospice Doctor thought that he might like to have a blood draw to check on how Gma's liver is doing. The nurse (Anna) believes that Gma's abdominal girth growth is caused by liver failure, thus the need for the test. The first time, Anna had to poke Gma twice because the veins collapsed both times. She was hoping that she was able to have enough to run the test(s)... But, alas, the lab reported there was about two drops too few to run the test... SO, the night nurse needed to come and try to get enough blood drawn. Anna told me that she thought the veins collapsing was due to Gma not being hydrated enough. For the second try I made sure that Gma had enough fluid in her! I didn't want the other nurse to have to struggle to get the sample. Hurrah! The 2nd nurse hit the jackpot on the first try and was able to get plenty enough for the test(s). We'll probably hear the results next Tuesday...
Meantime, Gma is still on the roller coaster. Earlier this week she looked, sounded and acted just like normal, even getting up and around well. Today she is starting to be a bit incoherent and not remembering more than a few minutes...
But, she remains cheerful and grateful...
