Things are happening with G-Ma.
G-Ma has been pretty stable for the last several months -- not really anything to report.
G-Ma has again been placed on HOSPICE. This happened a couple of weeks ago.
- the staff at Sunshine Terrace noticed a diminished ability to walk to the bathroom - they checked her O2 level and found it was around 70% while she was off her air hose. They have always taken it off while getting her to the bathroom to avoid a tripping possibility.
- they increased her O2 level from 3/liters to a 5 and then got her a concentrator that is capable of delivering 10/liters. It was too noisy and really heated up the bathroom where they had to store it, so they replaced it with two 5/liter units tied together.
- the nurse told me that G-Ma had told her for a couple weeks that she had been seeing angels. I have always asked G-Ma if she has had any 'visitors' and she has told me 'No', so this was news to me... and a quandary.
- Hospice has put a variable flotation mattress topper on her bed. Since G-Ma is sleeping a lot, this item will help her from having problems with developing bedsores.
- the tumor size is now quite visible through her clothing. One of the Hospice nurses (again) mentioned to me that what we see on the outside does not indicate what is going on inside. But, we all are thinking it is taking up more space that the lung and heart might be needing, thus causing her to not get enough oxygen. (Plus she is a shallow breather).
NOW, with all of this -- G-Ma is still incredible. She is happy, cheerful and everyone I talk to tells me how much they love G-Ma and her incredible, happy personality.

Thanks for the update. She is always cheery when I call her, although she tells me every time that they had to sell the house. Yet, she always says how she is being taken care of so well at Sunshine Terrace. I think I set a record of keeping her on the line for 16 minutes last time! I always enjoy our visits. Thanks, Uncle Duane, for keeping informed. I often ask if she has visitors or angels but I didn't this time. She has said that they are always comforting. She seems at peace.
